Hi guys
no go the Ethernet on the Aspire is definintely an issue.
Did as suggested, nope.
Created a new stick.
Clean USB - nope nothing. The connection works as soon as you fire up windows the ethernet is there.
CD-Boot same deal.
Both of these were then tried on the Toshiba and no issues with the connection. So far this is the only machine give me trouble.
I'm onto the EEE701SDX next.
When I've finished with the laptops I will copy any logs you want to look at.
Cheers

It is starting to sound like it will need a special driver. Without something to test against, this will be hard for me.
Can you find/download/install or will you need help?

Hi Brenton
I can find the drivers required, will finish up the other bits I'm doing first.
It won't be anything too dramatic I wouldn't think.
cheers

'hokey-dokey.

Don't hesitate to give me a yell though. Kernel level drivers will most likely require a "depmod -a" for every kernel, and may be best integrated into 01-FoxyRoxy. This could have implications if you need both NVIDIA and Standard video and may also depend upon if the NVIDIA drivers were patched into 01-FoxyRoxy before you load the new network drivers.

I've finished catching up with my "professional" (work related) International Email correspondence for the night, and am really about to call it quits for the night, but I know I haven't documented any of this yet - so if you need help, just yell - It may be a day or two until I can do anything though.

Cheers, Brenton

Hi Brenton
I will probablyhave to look at this next week, I'm away from Friday - Sunday only 3G where I'm going.
Yeah it will take a bit of thinking with all the other things to consider as well :( Patches etc.
Cheers
