Hi, Sickgut, nice to see you here :)
Congratulations for your download speed. I can't get more than 200 KB/sec for most of the sites.

Hi there
Getting 150-450kb/sec + on my crummy wireless laptop connection. Great download speed. I wished now I'd waited to do it on the ethernet
I might do that anyway just for the hell of it to see what speed I get.
Cheers

Anyone else having troubles downloading DevRel_03 from the last link here?
Downloading 4-5 hours and only 60 % downloaded.
I wonder if my ISP reduced the download speed from some locations...

Hi saintless,

Speed should be the same or faster than before.
I've just checked - it downloaded in less than 15 minutes.

With another machine on my network showing an average throughput though my router of about 800kB/s, from my main machine I still got a download speed from foxyroxylinux bouncing between 800 kB/sec and 1.1 MB/sec

FYI: The FoxyRoxy host is in another state about 1,000 klm from where I am.
(including my router) The packets only do 13 hops from my desktop to the server
Average response time from me to the host is about 20ms

You have a Shared Connection?
Do you know what the other machines on your network/shared connection are doing?
Someone or Something may be hogging (stealing) your bandwidth?

Cheers, Brenton

Hi Kazza,

It will be interesting to see what you get.
While I haven't geo-located the traceroute, it looks like the following.

From my router, I hit my ISP's router at the exchange.
Then I hit their first internal gateway. So far 3 hops.

Then I get smacked around once to hit their gateway to Internode and I'm still in Sydney at this point. Internode slap me around in Sydney about 3 or 4 times, the shoot me off to what I think could be a 10Gb link to our host border router which looks like it may be in Canberra and not Melbourne (judging from the name of their border router.) From there its straight to our host machine.

All up, pretty efficient.

Cheers, Brenton

Thanks, Brenton,

the problem is only whit some sites. I get the same result with Debian live site and there I had much faster download speed a few days ago.
ICS is not active from time to time and the speed is the same. I will wait day or two to see if there is any change and then will call to my ISP.

Cheers, Toni

Will have to be tomorrow. I'm with internode as well. So will be interesting.
Had to redo all my router/TVs/cables blah blah. Moving stuff and some packing has already started eeek.
Which mean I had a fair bit of downtime and no internet. :(. I have some time in the morning before I have setup my friends new toys.
Cheers

Much faster download speed today. Still slower from two days ago but much faster than yesterday. I guess it is a temporary problem from my ISP.
