APT/DPKG Repositories

Postby jbv » Wed Aug 22, 2012 9:21 pm

First, a heads-up... debian-multimedia.org has changed it's url since it was first added to FoxyRoxy.

As this repository is commented out by default, most people would not notice although you will get errors if you just enable it. In addition to enabling it, you will also need to change the repository url to be http://www.deb-multimedia.org before doing a reload/update.
To save this change to apt, you should use the 99-snap script ... Note: 95-snap will not save any refreshed apt databases.

The intent of this Thread is for people to list the known repositories, and specifically the mirrors that work for them in their county using their ISP. I'm not sure of how to best list/show this, so I'm happy for us to experiment with the exact format/style until we find something that keeps things clean and simple yet clear.

This might be a good opportunity to remind people that the default repositories in FoxyRoxy are pulling stuff from an Australian mirror - something that we will change in the next DevRel ... whenever that is.

If you can add a known good repository for your country or can confirm an unlisted/unconfirmed ISP for a country that has been listed, please reply here. The mods will do their best to keep this thread clean by editing the appropriate parent message, or leaving your message as the parent.
