I've been giving this a bit of though today ... between you and me, I can't see anyone trying to play with any of this stuff anyway. If they want to or do, then they should be able to cope. If they can't, then they should just "trust me" and leave that stuff alone ... I mean after-all, we didn't get where we are because "I got lucky" ;)

I agree, Brenton, and I trust you 100% in this matter ;)
Happy new year for you :D I will live 7 more hours in 2012 :)

Cheers, Toni

Hi Guys
Buggar I can't test what you want as if I had my normal setup I could.
However your judgement (JBV) as always is damn fine and yes you didn't get here just by pure luck.
Can't wait to get back but still only limited internet :( and away.

Hope you all had a great New Years day

Cheers

Hi Folks,

Sorry about the lack of info over the last few weeks. While I was looking forward to the time to spend on FoxyRoxyLinux, there was a disturbance in my private world that created some issues.

I have almost got the disk pooling working the way I want, so we aren't far off.
I hope to have everything sorted soon and get this back on track.

Cheers, Brenton

Great news Kazza.
I hope this means that you have been able to move into your new place and that the move goes (or has gone) well, although I think we both know there is probably still a little grief ahead.

My world got a whole lot better today.
I hope to update you all sometime next week.

In the meantime, you can rest assured that I spent a bit of time to day playing with our Auto-Mounting and our Auto-Magic Drive-Pooling, so while I haven't been as vocal as usual, progress in this key/critical area has been made :)

Best Wishes to everyone that is still with us, Brenton

Even with a few distractions, auto-magic disk-pooling is making progress.

I have the skeleton sorted and it works manually, so I've got all of the awk/grep/cut/slice/dice stuff happening.
It may not be as clean or slick as I would like and I may revisit it later, but I know it will work.
Not sure if I will be able to get it sorted by this weekend or not, although I will try to.

Stay tuned and watch this space.....

Cheers, Brenton

Hey there,
seriously has no-one taken up the mantle of the wireless in my absence ?

Wireless Foxy Works for me from eons ago. Yep never did pass all the info on. Will find it again. Wish I had more time to spend in here. Life has taken a bit of a curve ball for us, but still watch in here to see how it has moved on.
I'm hoping the next year gives me a bit of a break and I can spend a bit more time helping out and testing.

Cheers

Hi, Kazza.

Wireless should work fine after installing firmware-linux-nonfree package and wicd for example. I know Brenton does not like wicd and I have few alternatives moded from puppy linux and porteus like Simple Network Setup, Frisbee, XPNS-tool.
Some small changes are needed in control file for xpns-tool deb but all should work in FoxyRoxy after installing the packages.
